The Seasonal Patterns: During Australia's winter, from June to August, temperature is at it's lowest with an average of 13-14 degrees C. The rainfall is at its highest with an average from 117-162 mm. During the summer, from December to February, the average temperature is 22-25 degrees C. The rainfall is much lower than the winter months with an average of 9-14 mm. The pattern is during the winter the rainfall is higher and during the summer its lower.

Influence on animals: They have adapted to hot, dry climates. These animals survive with the use of very little water. Temperature: Influence on plants: Plants in this biome have leaves that are made from highly flammable materials. Influence on animals: Animals cool off under shrubs and trees during the hot summer. They search for their food during the night because it is too hot for them to search for their prey during the day. |
